Peter denies Jesus three times before the rooster crows, just as Jesus said he would do.
Proverbs 8:1-36 let’s us know that everything we want is with God. However, on a daily bases, we forget and do just as Peter did and deny Jesus to gain a better position at work, or enhance our careers. To build a better business. To have other people like us or accept us. But the fact is, all of these things and more are with Jesus.
Sure, we read the story and think (how could Peter deny Jesus after being an I witness walking with Jesus for several years). But if we’re honest with ourselves, this same question applies to us today.
How many time have “I” denied Jesus and, 1) Done my own thing; 2) Didn’t pray for are with someone; 3) Not forgiving someone that has wronged you.
And I list goes on, and on, and on. But you get my point.
Yes, Peter denies Jesus three times before the rooster crows. But while I was reading Proverbs 8:1-36 this morning, the question came to me.
How many time have I denied Jesus? I can assure you, it was more than three time.
I pray that you understand what I’m saying, because this post is not to Discourage you, but to Encourage you. Everything needed is with Jesus. But don’t take my word for it, Here’s what Proverbs 8:18-21 has to says.
- 18. With me are riches and honor, and enduring wealth and prosperity.
- 19. My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.
- 20. I walk in the way of righteousness, and along the paths of justice.
- 21. bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
