God’s plan from the beginning of time has been to make you like his Son, Jesus

This is your destiny.

God let us know in Genesis 1: 24 (ESV)

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

In all of God’s creation, humans beings are the only ones made in the likeness of God himself.

With that said, shouldn’t we have more dignity about each other?

However, sin has damaged and distorted out character, which is why God sent his Son, Jesus, to rebuild what sin has destroyed.

Now, you may be wondering, what does the full “image and likeliness” of God look like? I’m going to let you read the answer to that question.

The Bible says Jesus is

“…the exact likeness of God” 2 Corinthians 4:4 (NLT)

“…the visible image of the invisible image of God” Colossians 1: 15 (NLT)

“…the exact representation of his being” Hebrews 1: 3 (NIV)

As creatures, the clay can never become the potter; however, when we allow God to work and mold our values, attitude, and character, we can become like his Son, Jesus.

“…take on an entirely new way of life – a God fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.” Ephesians 4: 22 (MSG)

God’s goal for you on earth is to grow spiritually and become like Christ, which doesn’t mean becoming puppets, or becoming mindless like clones.

God created our uniqueness; and he does not intend to destroy it.

Therefore, our destiny to becoming Christ like is all about transforming your character, not your personality.
